How it all began
Jeff founded Haas Entertainment in his mother’s garage way back in 1978. This was a time before US Senate proceedings were publicly broadcast and John Paul II wasn’t yet Pope. Jeff’s focus was car audio, alarms & cell phones. Business was good and Jeff invested in a 1977 Porsche 911. He developed a close relationship with that car dealership and began upgrading their customer’s purchases. That made other car dealers take notice and Jeff was only too happy to help them out as well. Car dealership relationships naturally led to integration of entertainment & security systems in personal homes. Not long after that, word of Jeff Haas’s skills in integrating audio, video and other consumer electronics spread. His business expanded to a dozen employees and the list of his capabilities grew.
Jeff is currently exploring the future of custom tech integration; “Aging in Place” technology for seniors, environmental purification systems, mind-body wellness, biophilia, and circadian human-centric lighting. On the manufacturing side Jeff oversees the custom fabrication of bespoke automotive accessories and his own line of GPS equipment.
Jeff gives back to the industry and his clients by offering free monthly continuing education classes in his showroom. Classes are on a wide variety of topics including architectural lighting, motorized window shades, energy storage systems, health & wellness systems, network & Wi-Fi, smart-home automation & control platforms, streaming technology, outdoor TVs & music, and many more. To make certain his attendees are getting the latest and most accurate information Jeff maintains memberships with every major industry association; ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), AIA (American Institute of Architects), (ICAA Institute of Classical Architecture & Art), HTA (Home Technology Association), CTA (Consumer Technology Association) and CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association). The classes have a “non-sales” approach by insisting that industry presenters remain brand-agnostic in their training. They do however remain available to answer any brand questions.
Jeff recently joined DISH as a Custom Integrator, and leverages DISH’s Concierge Program. Recently, DISH techs helped support Haas Entertainment with the installation of several DISH Wally® HD Satellite Receivers into a Honda dealership. “The Wally is the smallest and fastest mobile receiver ever made and has great new features. I appreciate the white-glove treatment DISH provides my high-end clientele” said Jeff.
You can visit Jeff at The Haas Entertainment showroom in Culver City. This facility showcases the latest in Entertainment technology. Some highlights are; a luxury cinema outfitted with the “best of everything”, an audiophile grade two-channel music-lovers room, an exotic car workshop, an “interior-designer friendly” living room featuring touch-panel controls that reveal hidden speakers, hidden televisions & hidden lighting.
