In this course you’ll learn about the importance
of residential shading. You’ll also gain a better
understanding of the differences between motorized
and manual shading, the importance of fabric
characteristics and how it plays into the performance
of shading fabric, and discover how automated
shading systems maximize daylighting.
After this lecture you will:
• Be familiar with the benefits of using motorized shades
• Be able to explain the conducive design to motorized
shades including types of shades and fabric basics
• Be able to convey the best ways to conceal shades
• Be able to define how to integrate lighting and
shading including maximized daylight and
energy efficiency
