Can’t Sleep?

Can’t Sleep?

Haas Entertainment August 15, 2019 0 Comments

Sleep plays a critical role in staying healthy.

Last night I was educated about the correlation between sleep and health to improve my personal quality of life. This sleep seminar entitled “Pillow Talk” took place at the Custom Comfort Mattress Shop in West Hollywood, CA. My educators were Gary Trudell, owner of Custom Comfort Mattress and Eva Vennari, founder of The Elevate Institute. – Full disclosure: Haas Entertainment installed and programmed the Crestron control system for the “Sleep Sanctuary” in the back room. If you get a chance, go check it out.

Your body can store electrical energy

Thanks to Nikola Tesla, I’ve long known that my body is able to store electrical energy much like a battery. One of the things I’ve learned is that that stored energy, among other things, could be keeping me awake at night.

Additionally, my body may be lacking the ability to synthesize the required hormones to induce sleep. I’m talking about Melatonin. Melatonin is a natural hormone made by your body’s pineal (pih-knee-uhl) gland. This is a pea-sized gland located just above the middle of the brain. During the day the pineal is inactive. When the sun goes down and darkness occurs, the pineal is “turned on” by the suprachiasmatic nucleus and begins to actively produce Melatonin, which is released into the blood.  You may have seen Melatonin pills in the store. Understandably, the National Sleep Foundation website seems to caution against using over the counter supplements without understanding exactly what you’re getting and why. It’s advisable to contact a sleep expert or health care professional first.

What about the waves?

Positive ions are created by electronic devices. They create an “electronic smog” or “static air pollution”. As we all know, we are increasingly surrounded by all sorts of computers, large screen TVs, telephones, microwaves and other appliances. The World Health Organization calls electronic smog “one of the most common and fastest growing environmental influences” and states that concerns about the health effects should be taken seriously. As a person who installs and integrates these devices for a living I feel a moral obligation to educate and minimize the effects these devices can have on a person’s body. Once you learn about non-ionizing radiation and can measure electromagnetic waves with an RF meter, you can minimize it’s effects through shielding and strategic use of antennas. Removing stored energy is as simple as grounding yourself. You can take a shower, use a negative ion generator such as a Himalayan rock salt lamp, or even purchase a grounding blanket.

Other common causes of sleep disorders can be attributed to excessive ambient heat generated by synthetic materials and mineral depletion at the cellular level. To eliminate synthetics from your mattress contact Gary at Custom Comfort or better yet visit him at his store:
